ECH Keep Connected

The ECH Family Tree Continues to Grow

Working with family can be extremely rewarding and at ECH we have several family members who work together including parents, children, cousins and partners!

For the Clutterham’s, working at ECH is a family affair with mother, ECH Senior Home Services Lead Deb, father, Maintenance Officer Wayne, and daughter, ECH Human Resources Officer Lisa all working together. Deb has been working at ECH for 15 years and enjoys the feeling of support she receives from the organisation, which is why she recommended working at ECH to her husband and daughter.

Deb is extremely proud of Lisa and often has staff approach her and say how lovely her daughter is. “As a parent it’s really nice to see your child succeed at work firsthand,” says Deb.

Deb, Lisa, and Wayne work together from time to time and as they share a very similar work ethic, they find it easy to remain professional and complete tasks together.

ECH Administration Officer Megan and ECH Maintenance Officer Colin are father and daughter. With many years of plumbing experience under his belt, Colin heard there was a position available at ECH from a friend at a BBQ 10 years ago and decided to apply.

Colin then recommended his daughter Megan to volunteer at ECH. She started by assisting older people who were living with dementia for six months prior to applying for a permanent role at ECH.

“My volunteer experience has given me the skills to identify clients and residents who may be struggling and require assistance so we can help them,” says Megan.

Both Megan and Colin enjoy working in such a supportive environment and seeing each other every now and then when Colin is at the ECH Kidman Park office where Megan works.

ECH Manager of Retirement Village Services Jenny and her cousin Marilyn have been working together at ECH for the past year, sharing the same passion for helping older people remain living independently at home.

Jenny has been working at ECH for six years and manages ECH village services, including maintenance, gardening and resident liaison, while Marilyn is a Home Support Team Member.

After volunteering for many years, Marilyn decided to pursue a career in community care and Jenny thought becoming a Home Support Team Member at ECH was the perfect fit for her.

“I knew ECH was the right fit for Marilyn as we share the same values, and she is passionate about helping people.”

Although they don’t cross paths very often at work, they are able to catch-up at family events and share a passion for getting the best outcomes for ECH residents and clients.
