COVID-19 Safe App

The Australian Government has developed the COVIDSafe app as part of their work to slow the spread of COVID-19. The app is designed to help track outbreaks of COVID-19 and help to contact those who have been exposed to the virus quickly. The new COVIDSafe app is completely voluntary. Downloading the app is something you can do to protect you, your family and friends and save the lives of other Australians. The app is available for download now. Be Well Plan

Taking good care of your mental health and wellbeing has never been more important. SAHMRI (The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute), in collaboration with Flinders University, have developed the Be Well Plan – a personalised wellbeing plan to help people through challenging times as well as everyday life.

Throughout the program you will learn different exercises and strategies to build strong and positive levels of mental health and wellbeing. These exercises and strategies are based on the latest scientific evidence and are updated regularly. The program is available at no cost for the next six months. You can access the free pre-recorded sessions anytime and work through the program at your own pace. You can access the Be Well Plan by visiting bewellplan.com

Flu Shots Free for People over 65

Each year the South Australian Government offers free flu vaccines for people aged 65 years and over. The influenza virus strains change every year and the vaccine changes to match these strains – that’s why it is important to get the vaccine every year. For more information on the flu vaccine, visit health.gov.au/flu-influenza-immunisation-service

Reminder: ECH Wellness Sites now Cashless

National Innovation Games

We are exceptionally proud to share that some of our ECH staff members were part of the winning team at the National Innovation Games! The Games are a challenging online event requiring participants to think “outside of the box”, brainstorm and design integrated solutions to help businesses innovate and upskill for a sustainable future. With a focus on how technology could help optimise the way health services are delivered in SA, the Games were a great opportunity for ECH staff to build critical industry knowledge and network with industry experts in a fun and creative environment. Congratulations to the ECH staff who were involved in this innovative challenge!

Rainbow Butterfly Project

The response to our Rainbow Butterfly Project has been really amazing and has been a fun activity to promote positive connections and a way to help you stay in touch with your family, friends and the community. As part of the project, paper butterflies have been sent to our Social Connections groups and volunteers to colour in and place in their windows as a symbol of hope.

You can also contribute by sending in your own butterfly! The butterfly wall at the ECH Head Office is looking very bright. Whether they are paper-based, felted or created out of seeds or leaves – all are welcome! Contributions can be mailed to our Head Office at Parkside (174 Greenhill Rd, Parkside SA 5063).

If you have any questions or would like advice or support on how to stay connected please call ECH on 1300 275 324.
